GIVES LIFE FOR COUNTRY
Mr. and Mrs. George H. Cutting of Hamilton this week received official notice that their son, William H. Cutting, has been killed in action in France.
The young man was 26 years of age. last May he was called to service, being ordered to Fort Slocum, N.Y. for training. Not having heard from him for several weeks the family wrote to the captain of the company in which he served. A letter giving news of the soldier boy's death was received on Tuesday, just a few hours before the official telegram. The letter stated that he was killed by a piece of shrapnle [sic] on Sept. 30.
