                DEATH OF MRS. ELLA STEERE

    Mrs. Ella Steere, a well known and highly respected resident of the town, died Sunday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Samuel in Providence, where she had gone to spend the winter.
    Funeral services were held from the house Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock Rev. Fred Hillery officiating and the body was brought here for interment in Elm Grove Cemetery. The bearers were Charles and Clarence Steere, Joseph E. Samuel and Rev. Mr. Hillary.
    Mrs. Steere was the widow of Oscar Steere, a well known manufacturer in Pawtucket. Since his death a few years ago, she had lived in Wickford, sometimes alone and sometimes with members of her family Children surviving are Charles and Clarence Steere, of this town and Mrs. Samuel. There are also three sisters, Mrs. Noah Hollaway, of Wickford; Mrs. Sarah Mason Lafayette and Mrs. John Healy Apponaug. Mrs. Steere was the daughter of Simeon Gardiner and was born in North Kingstown 68 years ago
